What is interesting to note is that the entire Offensive coaching staff is being replaced and the Defensive coaching staff is largely retained. That seems to be reflected in the list above by the difference in who's expected to enter the portal.

Some players are leaving on their own accord, some are likely being told by the incoming staff that it might be in their best interest to look for playing opportunities elsewhere, and some are entering to try to boost their NIL earnings (some of these may go and some may stay).

As noted in other threads, Qb is a priority, but honestly so is the OL, RB, and WR rooms. The defensive side of the ball will lose players to the draft that will need to be back filled but it seems like our defensive players want to stay and are appreciated by the staff.

Personally, I want to see a full revamp of the OL and see who we enrich the RB room with (imagine if we have Kewan Lacy and Harlem Berry as our 2 feature backs next year behind an offensive line that actually plays hard on every single play).

He met Tre Brown earlier and they're out with the coaches together tonight.

Kentucky appears to have given up. They just signed a different dude at QB

That could very well be. So far, only 2 players that have entered the portal from LSU have officially transferred elsewhere.

That will definitely rise, but there may well be a lot of players that have entered the portal that stay or players that have entered the portal that LSU does not take back.

I've also seen speculation that LSU might see Lance Heard transfer back (not sure at what cost, NIL-wise, though). Curne and Heard could be quite the tandem. Weston Davis entered the portal then changed his mind and withdrew from the portal.

Cool.

Though, I won't jump on the 'sky is falling' bus if it doesn't happen.

There are a ton of QBs in the portal and looking at how CLK brought out the best in Trinidad Chambliss (who everyone else overlooked before he took over at Ole Miss), I'm confident we'll end up with a more than adequate field manager.

I can't imagine a world where Heard returns to LSU, but hey, he'd get his demands from 2024 met.

He demanded to start at LT over Will Campbell lol
