The Lane Era Begins

The madness, the idiotic offensive play calling, the soft ass offensive line and in fact soft ass offensive mentality...is OVER!

Let's GEAUX, Tigers!

Things are about to get real fun

Moscona said what he hears is that Lane has a dollar formula for building his roster. He and his staff will evaluate (have been evaluating since they got here) each player. Based on their play and their position, they have been assigned an NIL value, in many cases it is below what they made last year. That is why most of our o-line plan to enter the portal, to see if someone will pay them more than Lane will.

I like the approach, very businesslike. I think that was part of BK's failing, he didn't have a strategy for the new world of college football business. They obviously did not do a great job of talent evaluation, or development, especially on offense, and the Matt House experiment was a failure.

Nor did they establish a culture of achievement.

Related to my comment above, there are also players getting pretty healthy revenue at LSU but producing at a lower level than many players making less money elsewhere. I think there are likely some players being whisked out as they have proven themselves to be poor "investments".

(The caveat emptor being that NIL money does not come from the schools...nudge nudge, wink wink.)

they did just fine evaluating talent.
the O-Line in 2024 was terrible.
but 4 of those 5 guys are on NFL rosters now. 2 of them are starters.

so talent wasn’t the problem.
something else was.
and the Matt House experiment was a failure.
the BK era is one that should be studied extensively because it was so bizarre.

Matt House year 1 wasn’t bad at all. Wasn’t elite, but looked like he was building toward something.
then year 2 was on of the worst i’ve ever seen.

Sloan and Nuss looked decent in 2024.
then 2025 came and they were fucking atrocious.

seriously, how the hell do you go that far backwards with same personnel?

What the bald guy (moscona) is referring to is exactly why I'm fine with the entire OL leaving. They were overpaid and an adjustment is necessary. You don't want the pay cut? Leave! I'm sure Ole Miss will take you out of spite regardless of the fact you got shoved in a locker all season and again last night.

People act like now we gotta go buy a whole OL.
So be it! We were paying these dudes and now we're not. That money is freed up. Go buy an OL and watch how they operate in an actual offense.

I've been the engineer of the Lane Train for about 6 years now, all these chumps like Nootch making me slow down so they could jump aboard, but we're back up to speed rolling down the tracks

What’s the good word, folks?

Has everybody jumped on the Lane train at this point? Looks like the staff has been doing work in recruiting.

Going to be a fun offense to watch …
Hey buddy, good to see you!

Man, it was a tough 2025 for both programs. I think the LSU fans had it harder because the outlook for the team that we were sold last August was Nuss was a Heisman candidate, the defense was stout, we had experienced receivers coming back and some good freshmen receivers and we were expected (by the head coach) to make a serious run for the CFP. Well that didn't happen. The defense was good, but the offense SUCKED. The o-line was bad. We fired BK after the A&M game. It was as bad as 2020 and 2021.

Auburn has not been so good picking head coaches either, only 2 years per head coach for the last two guys. Do you have hope for the future? With the portal things can change quickly.

Yeah, there’s been some bad voodoo on the Plains the last several seasons. I think we had a below-average recruiting/portal season too. So Golesh has his work cut out for him though. We’ll see soon enough ….

So 2 things

1. Guys here can tell you, when I didn't think Lane was an option. I wanted Golesh. Already had him named Geauxlesh

2. I won't ever feel super confident playing at Jordan Hare lol
