The Lane Era Begins

OK, Lane has been on the job for 2 months. We've heard a little here and there, but after 2 months he really has more of an idea of what is what. This 13 minute talk is the most natural I have seen him. There will be much more to come, but this is a good start.

Lane is MY definition of a "fit".

Has nothing to do with where he's from or how he talks or even if he does or doesn't put tomato in his gumbo.

He WORKS.

Dude posted on X yesterday morning at 4:41 AM from his car. He said this will be the best day yet.

Then posted again at 2AM this morning with this...

🐅!

Relentless! Jay Johnson is a west coast dude. Skip is a Jewish dude from Miami. Nick is from WV.

Who cares?? They came here and appreciated LSU and busted their asses.

That's "fit" and Lane fits

ETA: Let's be real, I'll call for his firing if he puts tomato in his gumbo

firing will not be a harsh enough fate if he puts fucking tomatoes in his gumbo.

That was it, thanks! Dachsie was that who you were thinking of? As I recall he had a daughter with a learning disability and through his and wife's diligent efforts she was moving forward in life very well. We were all happy for him.
Yes - his real name was Dave

LK press conference today. I listened to the whole thing, its a lot of information. If you don't have the time, just listen to the first 5 minutes or so. Lane talks about the magnitude of the challenge when he signed. Build his staff, keep the 14 high school commits, evaluate current players to see who to keep, evaluate probable portal entrants to see who he wanted, recruiting portal players and his own players that had entered the portal. I don't know if every decision he made is a 100, but you have to give this guy credit, he works HARD!!!! It looks like he has a competitive drive to WIN. He's not a graceful speaker, but I notice this about a lot of successful head football coaches, they are not great public speakers. But, they are very good in front of their team.

Wait till he goes for it 4th and 4 from his own 30.
I saw him do that in an important game, like a Ga. or Bama, they didn't make it and lost the game. I hope he learned something there. There was time on the clock, I thought it was a bad call on his part.

he's also done it in other games, made it, and went on to win.

sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

it also makes a difference that Georgia hadn’t punted all game, so odds of stopping them to get the ball back were very slim.
This is true. Ole Miss and Georgia had not punted until the 4th quarter when OM finally did. Georgia never punted the whole game.

Good thing Ole Miss kept Golding and got rid of Lane. Golding was clearly the real reason for their success lol
