Given the absence of QBs on the roster, I see us signing 2-3 QBs:
- One elite starter type QB
- Probably two "2-3 star(ish)" QBs as backup / insurance
Many of these players enter the portal hoping to be the next Trinidad Chambliss Cinderella story and who better to sell that than Lane Kiffin? It makes it harder to do that for the lower graded tier of QBs if you already have a Leavitt, Williams, or Raiola announced as the presumptive starter for LSU.
I think a similar thing happened when Walker Howard transferred to Ole Miss only to be backup to Jaxson Dart.
We definitely brought in receiver targets for these guys.

Much like our recruiting class, we are hauling in TOP players. Currently, LSU has the 3rd ranked portal class on 247Sports. Look at the number of players signed by other schools compared to LSU.
Penn State basically has Iowa State's entire team following Matt Campbell (if one Ole Miss player transfers to LSU watch the press howl about tampering...lol).
Penn State and Okie State currently have 27 and 33 players from the portal respectively and are currently ranked 1 & 2. LSU has 14 players and is ranked #3. LOL.
It's not like he won't make bank in the NFL next year.
