2026: Official Transfer Portal Topic

So are we doing good with the portal transfers?
A solid top 5 haul, but we need road grinders pretty bad. Defense and skill positions have depth, but that o line needs some pushers. Hard to get from the portal, so I imagine Kiffin is gonna raid the minor leagues to find solid prospects.

Although everyone is fixated on LSU getting a top QB, there were other positions of need that were just as important.

Due to players entering the draft and leaving via the portal, LSU was down to just 2 scholarship WRs going into next season. Hence, we've added 8 WRs through the portal. None of these guys appear to be slouches (Malik Elzy was kind of bashed by Glenn Gilbeau, so I figure he might actually be good :ROFLMAO:).

RB was also an area where we were kind of thin. We added some depth there and it looks like there is a very good chance that Caden Durham might withdraw from the portal and stay at LSU.

OL might be the biggest area of need we have. Given how crappy the OL was this year, it looks like the staff is not retaining many of them. Braelin Moore IS returning, which provides a needed veteran presence. But we've also added C William Satterwhite from Tennesee (who I think was their starting center) - this allows one of these guys to potentially play guard and center. We've added 2 OTs, one of which was a 4 str recruit from Kentucky that has 4 years of eligibility left.

I think we'll add more OL players in the remaining days...we really needed to upgrade the OL both from a player standpoint and a coaching standpoint. I think were trending positively there.

It was just announced that Sam Leavitt is now a Tiger!!!

Check out the highlight reels I posted above for Landen Clark. Elon University is not the SEC and he will need to adjust to the talent in the SEC but he has excellent raw skills. He'll be a great backup.

That was the #1 need, and we got Clark to back him up. If Leavitt does not heal from his foot surgery in time (they say recovery from that surgery takes a long time), Clark may start the season. Reports that Leavitt won't participate in spring camp, but will be ready for fall camp.

If by top 5 you mean #1, 👍

His passing looks accurate. He's got wheels, gonna be better than Nuss as a runner (:) that don't take much), decision making looks good. I like him.

Thanks for posting that. It was enjoyable to watch.

I feel bad that Nussmeier didn't have better coaches designing better plays for him. Many of the plays Sloan penned were just absolute head scratchers. How many times in game chats during the last 2 seasons were we literally asking "WTF was that?"

After Burrow and Jayden Daniels, the LSU QB room had essentially devolved back to the Miles days where we literally couldn't buy a decent QB.

Looks like we bought 3 good ones now.
