Lazy B Hay Farm

Looks like we lost some great content with the move, but no time like the present to start fresh.

Our little farm...today is the first time I'm taking animals to market!

With my painted desert sheep, I'm trying to breed for trophy rams but I need more ewes.

I started with a flock of one ram with decent genetics and 3 ewes also from decent lineage.
We wound up with four lambs, but 3 were rams.

In the meantime, I purchased a true trophy ram lamb from great genetics, his name is Slow Hand as he shares a birthday with Eric Clapton.

Today I'm bringing the original ram, Gordon Whitefoot, and two of his offspring to market. All mainly white rams. Not much "paint" involved.

I have two mainly white ewes but it's highly likely both are pregnant, so I'm holding off and getting rid of them.

Pics to follow

These are the 3 going to market today

Gordon is the big one, he sired the other 2 shown

These are the 2 rams I'm keeping for now.

Mystic Twister was sired by Gordon as well and got his color from his momma, Lady Domino. (2nd Pic)

Slow Hand is unrelated to my other sheep and will be my breeder ram next year. (3rd Pic)
I'm also attaching a pic of his sire, and you'll see why I'm keeping him!

Gordon and the white ramlets netted me some decent Christmas money.

My buddy has painted desert sheep but not the quality of mine. He brought 28 to market (plus brought my 3). Mine averaged more than double what his did at the sale.

Here's a picture of his trailer when we loaded his onto it and before we loaded mine... looked like the train to Auschwitz
